Meals are usually served at
the lodges, however special bush breakfasts out in the open overlooking
the picturesque, early morning savannah can be arranged. This gives the
perfect finish to a morning game drive. On return back to base in the
evening after a stimulating day, relax by the pool as you watch the orange
sun sink below the horizon while you enjoy a cool glass of wine
rejuvenating you for a candle lit dinner to follow.

Horizons game drives are bound to be exciting and full of extraordinary
scenes, as you will be staying in the finest wildlife areas. The tours are
led by driver/guides knowledgeable in all aspects of the diverse ecosystem
helpfully answering any questions you may have. We use microbuses or
landcruisers with seating arrangements that provide full access to a
window and all round exterior viewing. The roof pops up to allow even
better photography and observation.
Some lodges provide the opportunity to do walking safaris. The duration of
these safaris is normally a few hours at most and can be enjoyed as an
exciting alternative to a game drive.

Horizons uses lodges that provide comfortable accommodation and good
service. Our guests are accommodated in traditional lodges as well as
luxury-tented lodges. The rooms are ensuite with hot water showers or
baths, allowing privacy and relaxation throughout your stay.
Always
sensitive to the traveller’s needs, lodges are built to have as many game
viewing vantage points as possible. You will often find that your room,
balcony or veranda allows astounding views of the savannah or a river
bank. In addition, most lodges have viewing decks or animal hides to allow
you an even closer study. Many lodges have salt licks or waterholes
provided with floodlights for night time game viewing as this is when the
various species of nocturnal animals hunt or forage.
