Location and season
Lazy Lagoon lies in the Zanzibar Channel (offshore from the mainland at Bagamoyo). It can be reached by road from Dar es Salaam, a trip of just under an hour. This is followed by a short motor boat trip across the 2km stretch of sea to reach the island. Traditional boarding methods and an element of shallow paddling may be required to get to the boat. There is an airstrip at Bagamoyo town 7km away and transfers can be arranged.

The resort offers 12 self-contained beach bandas with twin or double beds. Offering large airy rooms, wide shaded verandas, they also feature an upper loft (to be used as a lounge or children's bedroom/play area, a private veranda, room service, laundry and electricity.
Dining and bars
The central dining room and bar offers a magnificently relaxed atmosphere with a wide choice of local and international cuisine. From the terrace, one can watch the returning fishing boats - many of them delivering the day's catch direct to the tables of the resort.

What to see and do
Activities include: swimming and snorkelling, kayaking, lagoon and mangrove forest exploration, sunset dhow safaris to the nearby sand islands and coral reef, or a visit to the nearby historical town of Bagamoyo. The resort also offers a number of sailing dinghies and windsurfers
Nature Trails: the island is part of a small private nature reserve with abundant birdlife and resident mammals to include: bush babies, wild pigs, genets, baboons, duiker and suni. Morning and evening walks are offered through the indigenous forest and mangrove.
