Tanzania Cultural Safari Schedule
Day 1 Kilimanjaro airport - Arusha
Arrive at Arusha’s Kilimanjaro International Airport and meet your customer service representative.
Transfer to Arusha town situated at the foot of Mount Meru.
Check in to the Four Points by Sheraton Arusha; established in 1894, the Four Points by Sheraton Arusha is one of the oldest hotels in East Africa. Saturated with the history of a bygone era, the traditional ambience is effortlessly combined with the style and service you wish for when travelling. Parachichi Restaurant, ‘avocado’ in Swahili, overlooks our beautiful garden and is the perfect place for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Day 2 Arusha – Tarangire National Park- Lake Manyara
After breakfast transfer check out of the hotel and set off for safari; drive to Tarangire National Park:
Tarangire National Park has an incredible diversity of landscapes and vegetation and is famous for a large number of elephants, baobabs and climbing lions. The topography of the hills covered with baobabs and anthills is divided by the river Tarangire which attracts a large number of animals migrating in the dry season.
Enjoy game drives in Tarangire, with packed box lunch
In the afternoon drive to Lake Manyara and check-in at Manyara Escarpment Lodge: Perched high on the rim of the Great Rift Valley, Manyara Escarpment Lodge is a serene haven overlooking the wonder of Lake Manyara below. Offering 16 private, tastefully decorated chalets. Inviting the incredible beauty of the African bush in expanses of windows and doors mean that you have nature right around you as you sit in the comfort and luxury of the superbly appointed bar lounge. A spreading deck surrounding the main lodge affords you breathtaking views of the lake and the gorge upon which the lodge perches watch pelican sweep the skies as you take sundowners, see the sun slip like a segment of orange into the hills and listen to the sounds of Africa nestle up to you as night slides in.

Day 3 Lake Manyara
This morning after breakfast drive into Lake Manyara National Park for game drives for a better part of the morning; located in the northern part of Tanzania, Lake Manyara National Park is 126 kilometres west of Arusha Town. The park is sized 330 square kilometres of which 220 sq. kilometres. Lake Manyara National Park is well known for the tree-climbing lions, the soda ash lake and its flamingos, we are talking about breathtaking scenery! Return to the lodge for lunch
In the afternoon visit Mto Wa Umbu township; sightsee, enjoy and indulge yourself in the diverse culture of Tanzania as you take a guided walking tour through the local streets of Mto wa Mbu, returning to the lodge in the evening

Day 4 Lake Manyara -Serengeti
Check out of the lodge and drive past Ngorongoro Conservation area, stopping en route for a visit to the world-famous Olduvai Gorge Paleolithic site and reputed Cradle of Mankind Museum’.
After a visit of the site & packed lunch at OI Duvai proceed to Serengeti National Park and to and to Acacia Seronera Luxury Camp which is ideally located for safari game drives as well as optional activities such as balloon safaris
Lunch and afternoon game drive.

Day 5 Serengeti
With a full day in Serengeti, your options are wide. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served at the camp.
Game drives can be taken in the morning and afternoon: whilst the annual migration is the Serengeti’s most famous attraction, the Park is also renowned for its lion, many of which have been fitted with radio-transmitter collars so that their movements may be tracked, and additionally for its wealth of cheetah, zebra, giraffe, Thomson’s and Grant’s gazelle, eland, impala, klipspringer, hippo and warthog

Day 6 Serengeti
Enjoy another full day in Serengeti; game drives can be taken in the morning and afternoon.

Day 7 Serengeti - Ngorongoro
After a leisurely breakfast, leave the Serengeti and drive to the Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area We visit a traditional Masai homestead to gain insight into their life and customs, before proceeding to Acacia Ngorongoro Luxury Camp Lunch at the camp and enjoy the afternoon at leisure, before evening Sundowner Experience

Day 8 Ngorongoro - Karatu
After an early breakfast at the lodge descend into the crater for a half-day game drive in Ngorongoro Crater (exiting the Crater not later than 12.00)
Ngorongoro Crater: Often referred to as the eighth wonder of the world’ the Ngorongoro Crater is one of Africa’s best-known wildlife arenas. A World Heritage Site, it is also one of the largest volcanic craters in
the world (almost 20 kilometres wide, 610-760 meters deep and covering a total area of 264 square kilometres). An utterly unique biosphere, the Crater harbours grasslands, swamps, forests, saltpans, a freshwater lake and a glorious variety of birdlife, all enclosed within its towering walls. Due to its high concentration of wildlife, close-range viewing opportunities and striking scenery it is also Tanzania’s most
visited destination
Drive to Acacia Farm Lodge Karatu and check-in, just before lunch at the lodge
In the afternoon take a guided Coffee Plantation Tour

Day 9 Lake Eyasi - Karatu
After breakfast, set off and drive to the shores of Lake Eyasi and visit the Hadzabe & Datoga indigenous ethnic group
The Hadzabe & Datoga-are an indigenous ethnic group in north-central Tanzania, living around Lake Eyasi in the central Rift Valley and in the neighbouring Serengeti Plateau. There are, as of 2015, between 1,200 and 1,300 Hadza people living in Tanzania, however only around 300 Hadza still survive exclusively based on the traditional means of foraging. As descendants of Tanzania's aboriginal hunter-gatherer population, they have probably occupied their current territory for thousands of years, with relatively little modification to their basic way of life until the past hundred years.
You will have packed box lunch, and in the afternoon visit Simba Milima School, before returning to Acacia Farm Lodge

Day 10 Karatu – Kilimanjaro Airport/Departure
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the lodge We then proceed to the Manyara airstrip where we will drop off those in the group who may wish to extend their holiday to the 'Spice Island' of Zanzibar. Our journey continues to Arusha and on to Arusha Coffee Lodge for a late lunch before proceeding to Kilimanjaro Airport, carrying with you the memories of a lifetime as you embark on your flight home. |
